Me and Walter Lee

The man I fell in love with is not the same man today. Walter Lee has changed since the day we said "I do." We used to be able to sit down together and just enjoy each other company with a simple conversation but now I can't even serve him breakfast without him joking around sarcastically because most of the things he says aren't sarcastic. "Who's fighting you? Who even cares about you?" When Walter Lee said that to me it made me furious. I think if Walter Lee doesn't change his ways this relationship won't last. If Mama doesn't say anything to her son and knock some sense into him to get him out of that daze he is in the end of us may be near. He can't get his mind off this ridiculous dream of owning a liquor store; he doesn't understand that it won't happen anytime soon. The fact that he thinks he can get a deal with Bobo and Willy to get the liquor store license amazes me because chances are that the man is white and I know for a fact that no white man will make a deal to help a black man.
